William Wieben

William “Bill” Dean Wieben, 71, of Lisbon, died February 7, 2010 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 13, 2010 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mt. Vernon. Arrangements by the Cremation Society of Eastern Central Western Iowa. Surviving are his wife Carla; children Michael Wieben and wife Rhonda of Colorado Springs, CO,. and Bradley Wieben and wife Stormy of Chandler, AZ; step-grandchildred Jacob and Elizabeth Bohr of Chandler, AZ; siblings Ronald Wieben and wife Susan of Waterloo, IA; and a number of beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Darrell and James. Bill was born March 2, 1938 in Dysart, Iowa the son of Wilbur and Mary J. (Spencer) Wieben. He graduated from Guttenburg High School, and later attended Coe College and graduated the University of Iowa. He was united in marriage to Carla M. Herboldsheimer on September 13, 1958. Bill owned and operated Riverside Studio in Guttenberg during the 1960’s. He later was employed as a Machinist at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids for 28 years.
