Cleone (Peggy) Burkey
Cleone (Peggy) G. Burkey, 92, of Davenport (formerly of Anamosa), passed away December 22, 2010, at her home. Private family services were held this week.
Surviving to honor her memory are her children, Mary (Richard) Albers of Davenport, IA, Deb (Jeff) Feldbruegge of Madison, WI, and Larry (Virginia) Burkey of Walker, IA; four grand-children and eight great grand-children; and a brother Clayton (Marian) Burns of Belle Plaine, IA.
She was preceded in death by her husband Myron (Blaine), her parents, William and Myrtle (Hamm) Burns, 6 brothers, 1 sister and 1 grandchild.
Cleone was born November 29, 1919 in Dougherty, IA. On July 24, 1943, she was united in marriage to Myron Burkey in Cedar Rapids. Cleone had a special love of children and she was a true friend to everyone she met. She dedicated her life to helping others and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
