Norma Elizabeth Schweitzer
Norma Elizabeth Tomasson Schweitzer passed away Tuesday morning, August 31, at Colonial Manor in Columbus Junction, Iowa. Norma was born in Muscatine, Iowa on April 15, 1920, the daughter of Will and May Tomasson. A graduate of Muscatine High School, Norma married Bart P. Schweitzer in Clinton, Iowa on May 22, 1937. Bart & Norma purchased a farm near Gladwin, Iowa in 1946. The couple had eight (8) children: Pat Hoffman (Bettendorf) Bart Schweitzer, Jr. (Columbus Jct.) Melodie Sheisme (Denver), James Schweitzer (Glennie, MI) Joy Bitting (Clarinda, IA) Jay Schweitzer (Columbus Jct.) David Schweitzer (Columbus Jct.) and Lyn Hurst (St. Louis). Norma had twenty two grandchildren & 13 great grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned in September. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family.
