Obituary for William H. Severson

William Henry Severson, 72, of Washburn, IA, passed away on Monday, April 26, 2010 at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo. Per William''s wishes his body was cremated. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 30, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. A Luncheon will follow the service at the Evansdale AMVETS Post No. 31. Survivors include his wife Mavis Severson of Washburn; his children Carol Severson and Doretta Severson both of Bonaparte; David Severson and Linda Hockey both of Evansdale; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters Mavis Kilby and Carmen Angell. William was preceded in death by his parents John and Sylvia Severson, and two sisters Bonnie Wayne and Maxine Pattschull. William was born October 21, 1937 to John and Sylvia (Erion) Severson in Osage, IA. He was united in marriage to Mavis Cole on May 12, 1956 in Cresco, IA. William was employed at John Deere of Waterloo as a machinist for 36 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Evansdale AMVETS post No. 31. In his free time, William enjoyed woodworking, fishing and spending time with his family. . Memorials may be directed to the Severson family.
