Donald Lee Lohner, 79, of Humeston, IA died Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at his home following a sudden illness. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Christian United Methodist Church, Humeston, IA with the Rev. Dale O’Connell officiating. The Cremation Society of Central Iowa is assisting the family. Survivors include his wife, Janet of Humeston, IA; Daughters, Carla (Ed) Johnson of Humeston, IA and Madonna Henderson of Des Moines, IA; Daughter-in-law, Karen (Keith) Hamilton of Ankeny, IA; Step-daughters, Laura (Bill) Miller of Centerville, IA and Brenda (Chad) Hjortshoj of Hanna City, IL; Brother, Jerry Lohner of Des Moines, IA; Sisters-in-law, Wilda (Darrell) Jensen of Urbandale, IA, Pat (Jim) Horton of Corydon, IA; Brother-in-law, Barton Stark of Havelock, NC; Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife Doris, son Kermit, daughter Darla, grandson Michael Cox and brother, David Lohner. Donald Lee Lohner was born February 15, 1931 in Des Moines, IA the son of David and Edna (Berry) Lohner. He owned and operated Lohner Construction for many years which included building homes in the Des Moines area. Building and working on homes was his true passion. Donald attended the Christian United Methodist Church in Humeston, IA, and was a member of the Odd Fellows and Rebekah Lodge. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorials may be given in his name to the Humeston First Responders.
