Catherine Ann Farrier

On Sunday, April 11, Catherine Ann (Arnold) Farrier, 63, left behind her earthly body and went to bask in the love of her Heavenly Father. She had been diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2007. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at Shiloh Church in Kalona, Iowa (2255 133rd St.) on Saturday, April 17th at 6:30 p.m. She will be greatly missed by her family – husband Michael Farrier and their dog, Rain, of Davenport; children Mike Allen of Davenport, Matthew (JoAnne) of Moline, IL, and Mark (Andrea) of Kalona, IA; grandchildren Justin, Hunter, Jordan, Rachel, Rebecca, Sarah, and Madelyn; mother Clareen Arnold of San Diego, CA; and sisters Claire (Ken) Rich of Kalona, IA, Rebecca (Richard) Jones of San Diego, CA, and Saundra (Bruce) Boyd of Maryland Heights, MO. Also left to honor and remember her are many beloved nieces, nephews, friends, and church family. Cathy was born on December 1st, 1946 in Washington, Iowa. She graduated from Washington High School, and soon after met Michael Farrier, with whom she would share a lifetime of adventure and love. They were united in marriage on June 25th, 1966. As the decades passed, they were blessed with three sons, fruitful careers with Bell Systems telephone companies, and the support of wonderful friends and church members from Shiloh Church in Kalona. Cathy also especially enjoyed the beautiful country property that she and Mike nurtured together for more than 35 years. The log cabin home and patio that Mike built were the backdrop of many happy times, and the peaceful acres surrounding them were home to her much-beloved herd of cows. Their latest adventures together in their RV took them to almost every corner of the U.S. This definitely wasn''t the destination they had planned, but Mike and Cathy and family certainly did enjoy the trip… A memorial fund has been established and gifts may be directed to Mike Farrier, 8705 241st St., Walcott, Ia 52773. Many thanks to the dedicated, caring staff at Genesis West Oncology Unit and the Clarissa Cook Hospice House.
