Frederick Edward Kuykendall

Frederick Edward Kuykendall was born in Lake City, MN on July 18, 1946, and raised in Charles City, Iowa. He graduated in 1965 and enlisted into the Army in December 1965 to 1968. Fred served in Vietnam from 1966-1967. After his service Fred worked as a mechanic till he discovered over the road trucking was his calling. Fred was married to Connie Lumm on February 17, 1968; they had two daughters, Julie (Brad Pitman) and Jennifer (Paul Johnson). They were divorced in 1982. Later Fred remarried in 1987 to Kristie (Meier-Hayes) and acquired three more children, Chad, Jennifer (Todd Adams) and Rebeka (Mike Johnson). Fred was blessed with 11 grandchildren, Alan, Heather, and Ricky of Charles City; Steven and Austin of Portland; Tayler, Emma, and Macie of Orchard; Bailey, Emily and Zoey of Osage. Fred is survived by his mother Dee (Bill Berns) of Charles city; sister, Sherri (John Wirkler) of Prairie du Chine and Janet (Jerry Schwickrath) of New Mexico. Services to follow at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Marble Rock American Legion Memorial Park Fund.
