Obituary for Marvin Gene Nebendahl

Marvin Gene Nebendahl, born July 14, 1961, at Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton to Mary Ann (Walton) and Melvin Nebendahl, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, at home in Hawkeye. Inurnment will be on Saturday, November 28, 2009, at 1:00 pm at the Keystone Cemetery. "Marv" received electrical training in the Navy and continued with electrical work in his working career. He enjoyed working on Farmalls, his N-scale trains, and was an avid hobbyist who liked to find out how things worked and fix them. He was currently employed at AgriStar in Postville as a maintenance supervisor. Survivors include longtime friend, Yvonne Ellefson, and her sons, David and Dan Ellefson; brother, Dennis and Barb Nebendahl of Waterville; brother, Merlin and Barb Nebendahl of Cedar Rapids; brother, Robert and Kit Nebendahl of Shellsburg; sister, Bev and Mark Witmer of Vinton; and brother, Larry Johnson of South Dakota. He was preceded in death by parents, Mary Ann and Melvin Nebendahl; brother, Ronald; and infant son Terry. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
