Jasper J. Belcher, 79, of Grinnell died November 04, 2009 at the VA Hospital in Iowa City. Memorial services will be held Friday, November 13, 2009 at 9:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Grinnell with the Rev. Shane Estes officiating. Graveside at 10:00 AM at Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell. Friends and family welcome. Cremation Society of Eastern Central Western Iowa is assisting the family. Jasper Junior Belcher was born on November 7, 1929 to Jasper, Sr. and Bessie Tenant Belcher. He married Karen Smouse on October 13, 1959 in Princeton, Missouri. Jasper proudly served in the Marine Corp. during the Korean Conflict. Owned and operated Bud''s Home Repair in Grinnell for 14 years. He retired in 1986 due to health problems. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen; 3 daughters, Robin Mackle of Glendale, AZ, Shirley Parrott and Phyllis Turner both of Grinnell; 1 son, Jay Belcher of Snowflake, AZ; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 8 great great grandchildren. Jasper was preceded in death by his parents and 1 daughter, Penny Sue forest in 1980.
