Daniel J. Hare, 69, of Waterloo, Iowa died Thursday, May 28, 2009 in his home from complications of cancer. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at the Grace Brethren Church, Waterloo with Pastor Ron Weimer officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time at the church on Wednesday. Military rites will be conducted by AMVETS Post #19, Waterloo. The Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa is handling the arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Viola of Waterloo; Children, Melissa (Kevin) Wilkens of Evansdale, Christina (Les) Bales of Evansdale, Melinda (Sam) Ferrie of Waterloo, Michael Brustkern of Newton, Susan Lawrence of Waterloo, Donald Hare of Sioux City & Robin (Roger) DeVries of Sioux City; Sister, Evlynn Hare of Independence; Brothers, Ivan (Carolee) Hare of Pensacola. FL, Van (Lylia) Hare of Waterloo. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Lynnae Tuttle, a granddaughter, brother, Tim Hare and several nieces and nephews. Daniel James Hare was born September 28, 1939 in Waterloo, IA the son of Ivan & Dorothy (Turner) Hare. He served in the U.S. Army for an enlistment. Daniel married Viola M. Ford on January 20, 1967 in Galena, IL. He worked at John Deere Tractors Works for many years. The family requests no flowers.
