Helen L. Ricklefs, 63, of 4850 16th Ave. SW died Sunday March 1, 2009 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha of breast cancer. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday at First Lutheran Church. Rev. Dr. Kay Slocum will officiate. Inurnment at the Lutheran Cemetery in Decorah at a later date. The Cremation Society of Eastern-Central-Western Iowa is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include her husband, Henry, three daughters, Laura (Toby) Land of Marion, Lisa (Corey) Jordan and Linda Ricklefs both of Cedar Rapids and a son, Andrew also of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Robert (Diane) Drievold of Cedar Rapids and a sister, Sharon (Mark) Brown of Ogden, Utah. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Cheryl (Donnie) Ellison of Wyoming, Iowa. She was preceded and death by her parents, a sister and brother, Anna and Richard Drievold. Helen was born on May 30, 1945 in Decorah, the daughter of Bennie and Agnes Balk Drievold to whom she had a great devotion. She married Henry Ricklefs on Oct. 28, 1967 in Rock Island, Illinois. Helen was a homemaker and a member of First Lutheran Church. She enjoyed flowers, reading and time spent with her family especially her grandchildren. Helen was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. A memorial fund has been established in Helen''s name.
