Charles Chester Kintz

Charles C. Kintz, 85, of Waterloo passed away Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. Per Chucks'' wishes, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 16, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the St Paul''s United Methodist Church located at 207 West Louis Street, Waterloo. Survivors include his wife Theo Fern Kintz of Waterloo; daughter Rita (David) Root of Waterloo; son Jerry (Jackie) Kintz of Colorado Springs CO: brother David (Nellie) Kintz of CA; Grandson Todd (Carol) Meeks of Cedar Rapids; Grandchildren Carrie, Callie, Carley & Isaac Kintz of Colorado Springs, CO; Bill (Julie) Root ; Julie Ann Root; David (Raejean) Root, all of Tripoli; Mary Jo (Kevin) Sash of La Porte City and 7 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Chuck was proceeded in death by his parents James and Marguerite Kintz, nine brothers, and two sisters and his beloved Guide Dogs; Maverick, Taxi, Woody & Albert. Charles Chester Kintz was born March 23, 1923 in the Jasper County Township to James and Marguerite (Houghten) Kintz. He was married to Fern in May of 1952. Chuck was employed with John Deere in Waterloo. Chuck and Fern spent their retirement doing woodworking in their shop and camping. Chuck was a member of St. Paul''s United Methodist Church in Waterloo. Memorials may be directed to Guide Dogs for the Blind, 800-295-4050 or to the family.
