Victor Herbert Hoglan

Victor H. Hoglan, 74, of Coralville, IA passed away on Monday, July 13, 2009 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Per Victor''s wishes, his body has been cremated. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. at the Coralville United Methodist Church. Visitation with the family is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at the church. Survivors include his wife Marlys of Coralville; sons Ted Hoglan of Marshalltown, IA, and Douglas Hoglan of Florissant, MO; daughter-in-law Alison Hoglan of O''Fallon, MO; four grandchildren, Christopher Hoglan, Joshua Hoglan, Megan Hoglan, and Rebecca Hoglan; and a sister Gwen Casady of Iowa City. Victor was preceded in death by his parents John and Lucille Hoglan; son Capt. Gregory B. Hoglan, USAF; and a sister Barbara Miller. Victor Herbert Hoglan was born July 20, 1934 in Cherokee, IA to John and Lucille (Rhodes) Hoglan. He married Marlys Helland on October 9, 1955 in Marshalltown, IA. He earned his B.A. degree from the University of Iowa. Victor owned and operated four Buster Brown Shoe Stores in St. Louis, MO for many years before his retirement. He was a member of the Coralville United Methodist Church and Rotary Club Coralville North Corridor. Golf was his favorite hobby. Memorials should be sent to the Coralville United Methodist Church for their building fund.
