SSgt Phillip Samuel Edwards

My Dad, Jim (Bud Edwards) loved fishing with Uncle Phillip. We have tons of photos of them together with their strings of fish! Aunt Ruth sent my Mom, Virginia, the Moulton Tribune obituary and called my Mom too. So sorry for the loss. Debbie (Edwards) Sousa The Oldest of Bud's Kids May, 2009

My very deepest sympathy to Aunt Charlotte and Cousins Donnie, Shelley, and John. Several times during the mid/late 50s, Phillip was home when our family vacationed to Moultin. I was the fifth grandchild but the first to show intrest in fishing, hunting, and other things that the Brothers liked to do. Phllip gave me slingshots, arrows for my bow, cherry bombs, and other fun stuff. Phillip's success in the Army was part of my inspiration to join the Air Force in 1969. Phillip came to visit me while I was in boot camp in Texas - usually not allowed, but he showed up in uniform and had more stripes than my DI (and his boss!) so they allowed it. Uncle Phillp, you will be missed! Nephew Bill Jr

To Charlotte, Shelley and Donnie, and to rest of Uncle Phillip's family, I send to you, mine, and my family's condolences. When my sister and I were living in Iowa City [c. 1986] I remember Uncle Phillip calling me and saying that if there was anything we needed, to not hesitate to call him. [We still have his white and green star quilt, and use it nearly every day.] We are so sorry for your loss. - ee.

I'm very happy to have been a part of Phil's life. You can replace just about anything in this world. But you can't replace a good friend. A man who cared, helped, gave and many times sacrificed to take care of family and friends. I will always remember and enjoy all the things we did together. A true friend. My Friend Alway's John W.
