Devee Warner
My dear grandmother and grandfather were always beacons of light. They took me into her home during my angry teen years. I always have reminisced about my time with them as the most blessed time of my youth. Their love story, and life together, are the most inspirational and amazing that I have ever known. I will always treasure my memories of my guardian angel grandparents.
I would like to express my sympathy to the family on the passing of DeVee and Chuck. They were a guiding influence in the lives of many people they touched with their love, myself included. DeVee and Chuck have certainly earned their rewards in heaven and I know their presence and life lessons will be evident long after their passing.
In the late 50's and early 60's I was part of Marion Christian's CYF group lead by Chuck and DeVee. We laughed, learned, led and grew as young people under their guidance. We had fun in all we did. One Christmas we decided to have a living Nativity which required building, costuming Mary and Joseph, several shepherds and a wiseman or two and herding sheep during a cold, cold weekend. But it made the reason for Christmas more real to all of us. Chuck and DeVee kept us focused in that and many other activities during those growing years. Thanks and God Bless.
I wanted to share by thoughts of DeVee and Chuck by saying what wonderful role models they were for all the kids in the CYF group. They shared their family with all of us. I will always remember their wonderful spirits.
Too many memories. I just wanted to say the only real compliment I ever give in life is "you remind me of my grandma, or grandpa".
It was our great good fortune to have known DeVee, Chuck and their many loving family members for more than 50 years, starting with the Marion Christian Church choir. They were known as strong leaders and devoted workers in community projects in which they chose to participate, as well as displaying a contagious sense of humor. Their legacy of love and compassion for so many, set a sincere example of strength of faith.
I will miss our phone calls and visits that we had over the years. Thanks for being there for my Mother(your sister)for many years in her times of need. Most of all thanks for being a person of great love and having an open heart for people and ideas. Your loving Nephew, Ron Rubek
I KNOW HOW MUCH MY GRANDPARENTS MEANT TO ME AS A CHILD. THEY WERE ALWAYS THERE FOR ME FROM THE TIMES THROUGHOUT MY LIFE WHEN I SPENT SUMMERS WITH THEM TO THE TIMES I LIVED WITH THEM WHILE MY DAD RELOCATED. THEIR LOVE WAS TRULY UNCONDITIONAL FOR NOT ONLY MYSELF, BUT ALL THOSE WHO NEEDED LOVE. THEY WILL SURELY BE MISSED BY ALL OF US. THEY WERE GREAT ROLE MODELS ON HOW LIFE SHOULD BE LIVED AND HOW COMMITMENTS TO ONE ANOTHER ARE LIFE LONG. I AM GLAD TO SEE HOW MANY LIVES MY GRANDPARENTS TOUCHED THAT I NEVER KNEW ABOUT. I CHALLENGE EVEYONE TO TOUCH SOMEONES LIFE IN A POSITIVE MANNER AS MY GRANDPARENTS DID RIGHT TO THE END. I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING THEM IN HEAVEN SOMEDAY.
DeVee, I want to say thank you for all of the great childhood memories of you and my Mom that she has shared with us and a thank you to your Mom, Pearl, for taking her into your home. It was a very happy time in her life and she always considered you to be more her sister instead of just a cousin. Love to you and Chuck from Veda and our family.
My thoughts and prayers continue to be with your entire family during this time of loss. I pray God's blessings for each of you during this sad time and the comfort that the memories of your mom (and dad) will be with you always.
