Theo Fern Kintz, 84, of Waterloo passed away Saturday, August 22, 2009 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. Per Theo''s wishes, her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 1:00 PM at the St Paul''s United Methodist Church located at 207 West Louis Street, Waterloo. Survivors include daughter Rita (David) Root of Waterloo; sister Darlene of Sioux City; nine grandchildren; 8 great grand children; and a special niece Cheri. Theo was preceded in death by her husband Charles Chester Kintz, parents Halsey and Mina Sappingfield, Sister Betty, and an infant son Ronnie Dean Ritter. Theo Fern Kintz was born January 8, 1925 in Rosalie Nebraska to Halsey and Mina (Joyce) Sappingfield. She was married to Charles on May 3, 1952. Fern was employed with John Deere in Waterloo. Fern spent her retirement doing woodworking in their shop, camping, traveling, and their Seeing Eye dogs. Fern was a member of St. Paul''s United Methodist Church in Waterloo.
