William R. Reeves

William Rube Reeves, 73 of Perry, IA passed away Saturday, April 4 at Perry Health Care Center. William was born in Marshalltown, IA to Donald Raymond and Francis Reeves. He spent his early childhood in the orphanage at Boys Town, before moving to the Dahlgren, IL area as a teen. His adult years were spent in the central Iowa area and he settled in Perry for the last 20 years of his life. William worked as an over the road trucker, a cement finisher and tried a stint as a logger. He was never rich, but always willing to share whatever he had with someone that might need it just a little more. He volunteered his time and opened his house to many throughout the years, and enjoyed many friendships as a result. He loved going to the horse races, watching NASCAR, and his grandkids. William will be missed by his wife Carole Kay Reeves of Perry, son Brian S. Gobeli (Sharon) of Chatsworth CA, their children Nicholas, Cheynne and Brian II, son William J. Reeves (Dawn) of Norwalk, their children Logan and Erin Reeves, Jacob, Lucas, Abigail and Benjamin Anctil and daughters Joni S. Reeves of Perry, IA and Rebecca Reeves of Florida. William is also survived by sisters Becky Gange of OK, Catherine Aswegan of IA, Rivolta Lynch of LA. A memorial service will be held at Hastings Funeral Home, Perry IA on Thursday April 9, at 2 PM in the afternoon. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Memorial Fund for William R Reeves at First Federal Savings Bank of Iowa.
