Richard C. Pugh, 84, of Columbus Junction, died Friday morning, April 10, 2009 at Colonial Manor, Columbus Junction following an extended illness. Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, April 13, 2009 at the Columbus Junction Presbyterian Church with Mike Jay delivering the eulogy. Masonic Rites will be conducted prior to the memorial service at 9:30 AM. The Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa is assisting the family. Richard Calvin Pugh was born January 30, 1925 in Columbus Junction the son of Lewis & Sclenia (Peters) Pugh. He graduated from Columbus High School in 1943 and served with Army in the European Theater during WWII. Dick spent 50 years in automobile sales retiring in 1999. Dick was very active in the community and civic organizations. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Columbus City Masonic Lodge, Davenport Consistory where he became a 33„a Mason and KAABA Shrine. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Frances; Sons, Mike Pugh, Dave (Candy) Pugh & Mark (Pam) Pugh, all of Columbus Junction; Brothers, Art Pugh & Jack Pugh, both of Columbus Junction; Sister, Doris Schafer of Tempe, AZ. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marian Cecil. Online condolences may be left at www.iowacremation.com under obituaries.
