Obituary for Duane R. Goodson

Duane R. Goodson, 77, of Dallas Center, died Monday, April 27, 2009 at the Kavanagh Hospice House, Des Moines, following an extended illness. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 PM, Saturday, May 2, 2009 at the Community Building, Dallas County Fairgrounds, Adel. The Cremation Society of Central Iowa is assisting the family. Survivors include his children, Gary Cutler (Marcia) of New Port Richey, FL, Daniel Cutler (Barb) of Adel, Susan Knight (Pat) of Omaha, Cindy Bennett (Marty) of Minburn, Timothy Goodson of Des Moines & Lisa Vialpando of Denver, CO. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Doris, son, David Cutler, brother, Robert Goodson. Duane Roscoe Goodson was born January 22, 1932 in Van Meter, IA the son of Roscoe & Eileen (Freeburn) Goodson. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Air Force. On September 14, 1956 he married Doris Maxine Frances McKinney in Trenton, MO. She died July of 1998. Duane was a truck driver for most of his working career and after retirement, was a parts runner for Luellen Bros, Inc., Dallas Center.
