Cheryl Ann Stephens, 49, of Waterloo died Saturday April 25, 2009 at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City. Memorial services at 10:30 AM on Tuesday at the Shiloh Baptist Church, 3525 Sager Ave. Waterloo. Survivors include her husband, Ralph, her parents, Jesse M. and Florence E. Harding Hovatter, a daughter, Amanda,(Rich) Hovatter, all of Waterloo, son, Brett (Angel) Hovatter of Oelwein, a brother, Greg (Erica) Hovatter Sr. of Traer, six grandchildren, Sierra, Abigail, Dakota, Nathen, Emma, Noah, two nephews, Greg Jr. and Todd. She was preceded in death by grandparents. Cheryl was born on April 12, 1960 in Waterloo and graduated from Central High School in 1977. Cheryl married Ralph Stephens on March 21, 1998 in Waterloo. She was a certified nursing assistant and a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Waterloo. She loved her grandchildren, her dog and the elderly she cared for.
