Michael Merle Roseberry

Michael Merle Roseberry, beloved grandfather, father and husband died in the company of his family October 4th at the Western Homes Communities - Thalman Square, Cedar Falls, Iowa. Born September 15, 1933 in Yankton, S.D. he was the son of Beegle and Elaine Roseberry (Garvie). In 1985 Mike retired from the Illinois Central Railroad after 34 years of service. The primary focus of his life was his family and friends. He enjoyed sports cars, both as a competitor and spectator and restored cars of his own. Mike was a charter member of the Northeast Iowa Sports Car Club. Mike and his wife, Marilyn enjoyed collecting Wedgwood, antique clocks, car memorabilia, and Boehm Birds. He was a member of Questers for 20 years. Mike enjoyed traveling with his family to places near and far, from the races in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin to the Mille Miglia in Italy. A good ice cream or joke would always bring a smile to his face. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marilyn; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Brian Eslinger and grandson, Thomas; sisters, Judy (Cal) Coons; Jayne (Steve) McLaughlin and Joyce (Dave) Clarke. Mike is preceded in death by his father, mother and three sisters. He will be greatly missed for he was greatly loved. Services will be held Monday, October 13 at 2pm at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Black Hawk County, 3912 Cedar Heights Drive, Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the Michael J.
