Loren Carl Hulke

Loren C. Hulke, 86, of Bellevue, IA passed away Monday October 13, 2008 at the Mill Valley Care Center in Bellevue, IA. Per his wishes, Loren was cremated. No service is planned at this time. The Cremation Society of Eastern-Central-Western Iowa is assisting with arrangements. Loren was born on May 10, 1922 to Wilhelm and Dorothea (Todd) Hulke. He married Grace Smith on August 2, 1941 in Elgin, IL. Grace preceded him in death on June 27, 2001. Loren and Grace managed Shady Haven Fishing Resort, was a member of the Bellevue St. John''s Lutheran Church, and enjoyed playing Euchre and watching Chicago White Sox baseball. Survivors include his two daughters, Karen Osar and Barbara Myers both of Bellevue, IA; four sisters, Dorothy Olson of Elgin, IL, Larraine Humbracht of Ossian, IN, Deloris Sterba of St. Charles, IL, and Ruth Pogoda of MI; one brother Richard Hulke of Elgin, IL; nine grandchildren, Kevin Osar, Aaron Harvey, Amy Harvey, and Jamie Myers all of Elgin, IL, Jay Myers, Shane Myers of South Elgin, IL, Brian Osar of St. Charles, IL, Cari Nemmers of Genoa, IL, and Mark Osar of San Antonio, TX; and fourteen great grandchildren. Preceding Loren in death were his parents; wife Grace; one daughter Linda Harvey; seven brothers, Irvin, William, Walter, Raymond, Stanley, Wesley, and Delbert Hulke; and four sisters, Erna Lindorfer, Helen Walters, Leta Lunz, and Marcella Hulke. Memorials may be given in Loren''s name to the Bellevue St. John Lutheran Church Organ Fund located at 300 South 3rd Street, Bellevue, IA.
