Joyce Renae Staats
Joyce Renae Staats, 70, of West Burlington, IA, died Friday, November 14, 2008 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington following a lengthy illness. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 10 am at The Church of the Nazarene in Wapello. Following the service a luncheon will be held. Survivors include her husband Troy, a son Lee Staats of New Boston, TX and a daughter Robin (Dave) Blount of Bettendorf, IA. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Jordan Staats and four grandsons, Jared Staats, Jace Staats, Keegan Michel, and Aaron Michel. She was preceded in death by a son Douglas, her parents, stepfather Alvie Tisor, and brother Don Swanson. Joyce Renae Staats was born September 9, 1938 in Oakville, IA, the daughter of Oscar and Jessie (Reddick) Swanson. She married Troy Staats on August 18, 1956 in Wapello, IA. She enjoyed dancing, walking, and bicycling. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Great River Hospice House, 1306 S. Washington Rd., West Burlington, IA 52655.
