Obituary for Arlene Sweet Myers

Arlene Sweet Myers, 74, of 3223 Bever Circle SE. died Friday Nov. 21, 2008 at her home after a short illness. Per Arlene''s request there will be no visitation or service. The cremation Society of Eastern-Central-Western Iowa is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include her husband, Ralph, two sons, Steven (Tracey) of Japan, Douglas of Stevens Point, Wisconsin; one daughter, JoEllen (Gary) Happel and a sister, Viola Hamer all of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Scott and Ben Happel, Shannon, Steven, Seth, Danny Lindsye, Brityne and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Madalene. Arlene was born on Sept. 11, 1934 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of William and Neva Parker Sweet. She married Ralph R. Myers on April 25, 1951 in Kahoka, Missouri. Arlene was a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling, going to the casino, crafts and especially time spent with her beloved family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given Mercy Hospice. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Boddicker for the wonderful care given to Arlene.
