Wayne Turnbull

Wayne "Red" A. Turnbull, 74, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, March 14, 2008 at St. Luke''s Hospital, Cedar Rapids following a brief illness. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at St. Mark''s United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids with the Rev. Elaine Jones officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. The Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa is assisting with arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Judy; daughters, Penny Burroughs of Marion and Robin (Todd) Telfer of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Jack Turnbull of Hudson, FL and Kenny Turnbull of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are grandson and best buds, Andrew Telfer; and granddaughters, Sara Stambaugh, Jessica Telfer, Jenny Brimeyer, Hannah Telfer and Grace Burroughs; great granddaughter, Evelyn Walner and his dog, Buster Beagle. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and 1 sister. Wayne A. Turnbull was born March 6, 1934 in Cedar Rapids, the son of James and Grace (Waddington) Turnbull. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the U.S. Army. Wayne married Judy Carl on March 6, 1961 in rural Marengo, Iowa. He worked as a bag machine operator at CryoVac for many years until his retirement. Wayne will be greatly missed by all who loved him and knew him.
