Obituary for Joan B. Schneider

Joan B. Schneider, 77, of Charles City, IA died Sunday, June 8, 2008 at St. Mary''s Hospital, Rochester, MN following a sudden illness. Per her wishes, she has been cremated. Memorial services are being planned for a later date. The Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa is assisting the family. Survivors include her husband, Ken; Son, Doug (Donna) Blunt of Charles City; Daughter, Peggy (David) Vanderploeg of Paullina, IA; Step-daughter, Toni (Bill) Monson of St. George, Utah; Sisters, Mavis (Clem) Kilby of Charles City, Maxine (Everett) Pattschull of Charles City, Pat (Lyle) Bunston of Goldfield, IA & Jean Ferch of Charles City; Brother, Bill (Sharron) Freiberg of Charles City. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Joan was preceded in death by her parents and 1st husband, Allen Blunt on November 5, 1980. Joan Barbara Freiberg was born December 1, 1930 in Charles City, IA the daughter of Carl & Josephine (Ryan) Freiberg. She attended school in Charles City and graduated from Charles City High School in 1948. Joan married Ken Schneider on March 25, 1983 in Colorado Springs, CO. She was a homemaker, loved working crosswords, playing scrabble and mowing lawn. She was very loving and her family meant everything to her.
