Mr. William R. Hoffmeister, 67, of Mt. Pleasant, IA died Friday, July 11, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family. Per his wishes he was cremated. A private family memorial service is pending. William is survived by his wife, Sue; six children, Paul (Shelley) Hoffmeister of Lockridge, IA, Kimberly (Mike) Stark of Mt. Pleasant, Jessi (Scott) Melvin of Mt. Pleasant, Sarah (Lewis) Cone of Mt. Pleasant, Gary Dvorak of Largo, FL, and Kim Murray of Conway, AR; brothers Kenneth (Jean) Hoffmeister of Ft. Madison, IA and Robert (Marsha) Hoffmeister of Woodlands, TX; sister Wilma (Phillip) Nielsen of Dakota City, NE; plus eighteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Kurt and Betty Hoffmeister. William Rudolph Hoffmeister was born December 13, 1940 to Kurt and Betty Hoffmeister in Elmhurst, IL. William served his country in the United States Navy. He married Sue Evans on August 19, 1984 in Robins, IA. William worked for Rockwell- Collins of Cedar Rapids as an Engineer for 30 years before his retirement in 1997.
