Robert E. Fulton

On July 17, 2008 Robert E. Fulton went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was born on August 10, 1921 in rural Columbus Junction, the second child to Milo D. and Ruby Stingley Fulton. On January 26, 1943 he was united in marriage to Mary June Garrett at Kirksville, Missouri. Bob was a long time businessman of Columbus Junction, operating Bob''s Produce from 1947-1958. He and June purchased the Commercial Hotel and operated it for 28 years. During this time, he worked as an electrician in the Power House at the Burlington Ordinance Plant. He also farmed the family farm. Bob loved the outdoors and you could often see him on his tractor mowing. He was quite a visitor and never knew a stranger. He looked forward to teasing his great-granddaughters making him very special to them. He attended Victory Christian Center in Columbus Junction. Surviving are two sons, Roger (Alicia) Fulton of Annawan, Illinois and Brad (Judy) Fulton of Columbus Junction; four grandchildren Loria, Thadeous, Troy and Kristen; Three great-granddaughters, Allison, Andrea and Lindsay; one brother, Max Fulton of Grand Rapids, MN; two sisters, Hilda Edwards of Washington and Phyllis Schlatter of Annawan, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife, June; both parents, Milo and Ruby Fulton; and a brother, William N. Fulton. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services are at Victory Christian Center, Columbus Junction on July 26, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Michael McAfee officiating.
