Milton Lester Wieser, 75, of Lansing, died Saturday, January 5, 2008 at the Veterans Memorial Hospital, Waukon, following a brief illness. A memorial gathering will be held from 1:00-3:00 pm today (Tuesday), December 8, 2007 at Thornburg-Hanson Funeral Home, Lansing. Survivors include his wife, Ella of Lansing; Children, Sandra Holl (Michael) of Graf, IA, Daniel Cripe (Susan) of Ft. Wayne, IN, Gary Cripe of Mesa, AZ, Raymond Cripe of Mesa, AZ, Richard Cripe (Corrinna) of Zephyrhills, FL, Kathleen Krousie (Michael) of Monona, IA & James Thomas Cripe (Donna) of New Paris, IN; Sisters, Dorothy Keith of Peosta and Loretta Miller of Solon. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Milton was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Timothy Cripe, 6 brothers, Cletus, Charlie, Maurice, Wilfred, Francis and twin brother, Melvin and 2 sisters, Mary Nolan and Irene Loanjers. Milton Lester Wieser was born May 28, 1932 in Dubuque, Iowa the son of Charles & Alice (Kroma) Wieser. As a child, Milton lived in Solon and then the family moved back to Dubuque. After high school, he enlisted in the US Navy and served during the Korean and Vietnam wars, dedicating 33 years to the US Navy. On August 10, 1979, he married Ella Lois Ansbaw Cripe in Dubuque, IA. Milton was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
