Harold A. Molkenthin, 80, of Mt. Pleasant, IA passed away Monday, January 28, 2008 at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant, IA. Per his wishes, Harold was cremated. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, February 1, 2008 at the Faith Christian Outreach Church in Mt. Pleasant, IA located at 1302 E. Washington Street. Harold Alfred Molkenthin was born April 13, 1927 in Sigourney, IA, the son of Robert and Ida (Schmidt) Molkenthin. He married Earlene Elliott on July 6, 1958 in Linby, IA at Earlene’s parent’s house. Harold graduated from Sigourney High School in 1945 and served his country in the United States Army. Harold farmed for 55 years in What Cheer, IA before his retirement. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Faith Christian Outreach Church, and enjoyed traveling, camping, and carpentry. Survivors include his wife Earlene Molkenthin of Mt. Pleasant; four children Kevin (Vickie) Molkenthin of Simpsonville, SC, Karla (Rick) Utterback of Lawrenceville, GA, Kathy (Steve) Coon of Columbus Junction, IA, and Keith (Rebecca) Molkenthin of Buford, GA. Survivors also include eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Ida Molkenthin; one sister Freda Molkenthin; and one brother Herbert Molkenthin. Memorials may be directed to the family for memorial of their choice.
