Felicitas Erzebet Klein Connell

Connell Family, I have the fondest memories of Felicitas. She was such a nurturing woman and spent many hours caring for me and loving me unconditionally. I remember feeling that escaping to her wonderfully landscaped backyard was like being in another world. I also recall playing Star Wars with Marcos and Alexander for hours and hours. I was blessed to be called "Little Princess" by Felicitas and always to feel special and safe in her care. She was such a wonderful and unique woman. I was blessed to have known her. Deirdre, Allegra, Alexander and Charles, I am so sorry to hear of you mom/ wifes' passing. I have so many lovely memories of her, and of you girls. One thing that sticks out is how your mom would call for you when we were all outside, I loved the sound of her voice. I also remember when you and I walked to school Deirdre and I would walk over to get you and you always had toast for breakfast, where as I had cold cereal! I remember playing barbies in your attic and how you and Allegra had the best chocolate in your wooden shoes!! I started making those tiny chocolate chip cookies that your mom made when my boys were little and I told them who I discovered them from. I saw your mom shortly after my own mothers passing and she and your father were so caring and thoughtful. She will be missed upon this earth. Hugs~ Sara (Dennis) Schroeder

Dear Charles and Family, Your Lici's life, especially in childhood, provided my father, Daniel, an important connection to his own journey in the Lord's mercy. My sister, Heidi, also shared of the love and kindness you and Lici showed her while she was on her intership at the University of Iowa years ago. Thank you! May our Lord bring comfort and hope to you and yours.

Dear Charles or "Charlie" when we were kids. Russ Malcolm told Kenneth and Kenneth told me about your wife's passing and we are all so sorry. I thought that it was recently but I see the dates on other notes and see that it's been a while; you may not check this, but I'll try. I have not seen you since we moved from Warwick when I was 11 (I don't think) Our parents kept in touch and I have seen David. But I hope you are OK, and time will heal somewhat; we lost Mom on Oct 29th, 08 at 100 years old and still in good shape till the last 6 weeks of her life. Many Regards to you and your family. I remember being welcomed as a very young bride by Felicitas and Charles; I remember Thanksgiving dinner just before my daughter was born (and a good many other dinners); I remember Felicitas' care for my daughter as I went back to school. And the story both Laura and Alexander would probably like to forget--Laura, asked to watch the very young Alexander, did so, very solemnly and carefully, as he emptied all the dirt from a house plant with a spoon. I grieve with and for all of you; I will not forget that gracious and generous spirit. She will be in my prayers.

Dear Charles & Family, What sad news to learn this morning from Barb that Felicitas had died. During the years that we lived across the street from each other it was always so nice to get a wave or to have a few minutes to visit with her. I last spoke with her this summer when she walked past the house while I was triming a tree. It was so nice to see her. You are in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time. Howard

Alex and Kim and the Connell Family: Our hearts , thoughts and prayers are with you during your time of loss. Our brief meeting with your Mom, at your wedding, gave me the impression of an intelligent, cultured, nurturing woman--and I loved that she brought me plants from her garden for the party we held for your gift opening. What a sweet and thoughtful gesture. After reading some of the guestbook remembrances, I wish Todd and I could have known her over the years. She must have been an incredible woman. Cherish your memories, and know that she will always live in your hearts. We love you both and send you love, hugs and prayers. With love. Todd and Kathie Gordon

Dear Mr. Charles Connell and Family, At a time of such profound loss it seems not nearly enough to express my most sincere sympathy. Mrs. Connell was truly an extraordinary person. Her life was filled with acomplishment. She knew no limits. A true inspiration to us all. Her caring, nuturing, and gentle persuading was always administered with understanding and love. Her immeasurable grace was refined in the crucible of life. Her time on earth may be over..but if we consider well.. she can still with us..if we listen, learn, and emmulate her life lessons. We will all miss her voice and smile...for a little while...because The promise God gives is irrevocable.... " Thank God, The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, that in His great mercy we men have been born again into a life full of hope, through Christ's rising again from the dead! You..can now hope for an inheritance beyond the reach of change and decay, ' reserved ' in Heaven for you." 1Peter 1:3,4,...9 PHILLIPS In prayer... May The Love of Almighty God Grant her ...Peace and may The Lord carry you in this hour of need.... Deepest Sympathy.....

Charles, Deirdre, Allegra and Alexander, Charles, I am truly sorry for the loss of your wife. And to your children for a Mother who was devoted to you all. She was such a dear lady. I enjoyed being with her while in Chicago and we shared a lot. I remember our trip to visit with you both in Mt Vernon and it was great to see where you all live and your lovely town. She will be missed by all and especially James, Henry and Charlie. I know they will miss her visits to Chicago and the special times she had with them, cooking together, reading and sharing. Charles, carry on and hopefully time will easy some the loss as it has for me. With Love, Dot Sowerby, (Nanie)

My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. I have such fond memories of your mother, having grown up across the street from your home in Mt. Vernon. I still can hear her calling Alexander from wherever he may be in the neighborhood and I still say that she could be heard over most of the town. As I grew older and learned more about her, I held her in the highest regard. She is a woman who I think of often as I think of my younger days in Mt. Vernon. She was a great woman and will be missed by many.
