Edmond R. Watson

Edmond R. "Eddie" Watson, 91, of Fairfield died Thursday Dec. 11, 2008 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield, IA. He was born July 12, 1917 in Glasgow to E. R. "Ray" and Rhuie E. Litton Watson. On June 7, 1941, he married Vivian M. Heston in Kahoka, MO. She died Dec. 11, 1999. He attended school in Glasgow and Lockridge. He farmed, was an ironworker, a mechanic, and retired in 1982 from Fairfield Engineering. He could make about anything from wood or iron in his shop. He is survived by two sons; Terry Watson of Burlington, and Ronald Watson of Douds; two daughters, Patricia Hunter of Mt Pleasant and Shirley Trueblood of Marion; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother William Watson of rural Lockridge; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son and two brothers. The body has been cremated. The family requests no flowers. Visitation will be Tuesday Dec. 16, 2008 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Behner Funeral Home. Private burial services will be at a later date. Memorials maybe made to either Parkview Care Center or Glasgow Cemetery in care of Ron Watson., 13499 Eagle Drive, Douds, Ia 52551.
