Samuel I. Marner

Samuel I. Marner, 58, of Oxford, IA died Monday August 25, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. Private Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Survivors include two brothers G. Jeffrey Marner and Tracy Klein and (Deb), two sisters Tammy Klein and (Melvin) Dudley and Vicki Marner and (Steve) Thomae, and his much beloved stepfather L.G."Chuck" Klein. Also surviving are nieces Lisa, Jessica, Shelby, and Melissa and nephews Clint, Kyle, and Joshua. He joins his mother, Eunice Klein, in heaven. Sam was born June 13, 1950 to Sam I. Marner Sr. and Eunice Hemshrot and in Iowa City IA. He held a love for hunting and for his faithful dog Weasel. If Sam wasn''t hunting, you could find him fishing for trout or steelhead. Deer season wasn''t a hobby for Sam it was a true passion and he often would be side tracked from his turkey tracking by the lure of mushrooms he would happen across while hunting. He is a veteran of Viet Nam and has traveled the United States extensively living in Alaska, Oregon, and New York. Sam faced his cancer head on and never complained about his circumstances or pain. A memorial fund has been established.
