Obituary for Robert W. Johnson

Robert W. Johnson, 73, of Algona, IA died Friday, April 11, 2008 at his home. Private family services were held. Robert''s wishes were to be cremated by The Cremation Society of Central Iowa. Robert W. Johnson was born on February 7, 1935 in Britt, IA, the son of Oscar and Dora (Titus) Johnson. He graduated from Titonka High School in 1953 and married Joan I. Rich in 1963, and they had five children. He worked on the family farm until 1967, at which time he moved to Colorado Springs, CO where he became an electrician. The family moved back to Iowa in 1975. Survivors include his five children, Debra Dolleslager of Davenport, IA; Deanna Johnson (Hiram Green) of Denver, CO; Rebecca Johnson (Mike Romer) of Sheldon, IA; Robert Johnson of Lone Rock, IA; David Johnson of Algona, IA; and the children''s mother Joan Baker of What Cheer, IA. Also surviving are seven grandchildren (Devin Dolleslager; Justin Green; Brad, Heather, Jason and Nathan Romer; and MacKenzie Johnson). Robert Johnson was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Dora Johnson, his brother Ivan Johnson, and his sister Mildred Carlson. Robert enjoyed racing, so he helped with the local racetrack. His hobbies also included gardening and fishing. Robert will be greatly missed by all who loved him and knew him.
