Obituary for Charlotte Mae Cummings

Charlotte Cummings, 54, of Bonaparte passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at her home. Per her wishes, Charlotte was cremated. Open house will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 510 Texas Street in Bonaparte from 6 to 8 pm. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 2, 2008 at 10:30 am at United Church in Bonaparte with Pastor Paul Rekward and Rev. Ellis Andrews. The Cremation Society of Eastern-Central-Western Iowa assisted with arrangements. Survivors include her husband Maurice, Jr.; 2 daughters, Misty Cummings of Stockport and Carrie Cummings of Marion; 2 grandchildren, Russell and Dallas Pilcher both of Stockport; 2 brothers, Gary (Lois) Mellinger of Bonaparte and Gene (Janet) Mellinger of Stockport; 1 sister, Sherry (Tom) Christy of Bonaparte; many nieces and nephews; 1 great niece and 2 great nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, and nephew, Daniel Christy. Charlotte Mae Cummings was born May 24, 1953 in Keosauqua, Iowa, the daughter of Russell and Letha McCracken Mellinger. She married Maurice Cummings, Jr. on December 14, 1974 in Keosauqua, Iowa. She was a member of the Woods Club, Circle 8 Square Dance Club, enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and going to their activities. She was a member of the Center Chapel Church. Charlotte will always be remembered for her devotion to her family.
