Arlene Elizabeth Mullin, 90, of 1 Pennsylvania Place, Ottumwa, Iowa, died Wednesday April 16, 2008 in the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics from a sudden illness. Memorial services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday April 23, 2008 at 1st United Methodist Church, 516 Kellog Ave, Ames, Iowa. Inurnment: Iowa Veteran Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa. The Cremation Society of Eastern-Central-Western Iowa is assisting with arrangements. Survivors include her children, Maxine (Marwin) Bogue of Lake Shore, Minnesota; Roger (Charlene) Mullin of Huxley, Iowa; Don Mullin (friend Gladys Hiatt) of Helena, Montana; Dee Mullin (Steve Stillwell) of Ottumwa; a sister, Maxine Skoda of Hampton, Iowa; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Armour Paul Mullin, her brothers, Ronald, Mervin, Gene and Lowell Groesbeck. Arlene was born July 3, 1917 in Garner, the daughter of Clarence and Minnie Groesbeck. She married Armour Paul Mullin on January 9, 1935 in Northwood, Iowa. Arlene was employed with Ames School District for 11 years and Mary Greeley Hospital for 6 years. She was a member of 1st United Methodist Church in Ames. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading, fishing, cooking, dancing and traveling. Arlene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
