Dean E. Clayton, 56, of Cedar Rapids, died October 29, 2007 in his home following an extended illness. Memorial Services 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 4, 2007 at Eden United Church of Christ. Rev. Glenn Hunt will officiate. Celebration of Life Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 3 PM at Eden United Church of Christ. Cremation and Arrangements entrusted to The Cremation Society of Eastern Central Western Iowa. Survivors include his wife Rachel; daughters Jackie Rae and Shelby Rose both of Cedar Rapids; his parents Rev. Neville and Marlene Clayton of Osceola; sister Valerie (Paul Flohrs) Clayton of Des Moines; brother Tony (Penny) Clayton of South Branch, MI; sisters Shelly (Clayton) Stokley of Belton, MO, and Faith Beltz of Ft. Dodge; two nieces and two nephews; and many close friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by a sister Joyce. Dean Errol Clayton was born November 20, 1950 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada the beloved son of Rev. Neville George and Marlene Beverly (Rose) Clayton. He was united in marriage to Rachel Denise Brown on December 21, 1990 in Lincoln, NE. He was employed in Maintenance at Cryovac-Sealed Air. He was an Eagle Scout, and enjoyed hunting, story telling, hockey, and go cart racing. His main hobby was street rods. Above all he will forever be remembered as a people person and never met someone he wouldnt befriend. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him dearly, especially when the game is on in the two car bar. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Deans honor be made to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of Mercy.
