Obituary for Kathleen F. Plumlee

Kathleen F. Plumlee, 86, of Stanwood, IA passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at St. Luke’s Hospital of pneumonia. Per her wish Kathleen was cremated. A visitation will be held Saturday, December 1, 2007 from 1 pm to 2 pm with a memorial service to follow at Stanwood Union Church in Stanwood, Iowa. Arrangements by the Cremation Society of Eastern-Central-Western Iowa. Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen (Greg) Harrington of Stanwood, IA; one granddaughter, Colene Colby of Excello, MO; one grandson, Dale Colby of Comstock, WI; five great grandchildren, Jamie Reinhart, Abbie Bys, Zachary Colby, Jessica Colby and Rezner Buhr; and two great great grandchildren. Her parents, husband, Hearston, and two sisters, Inez McCammond and Lottie TenHagen preceded her in death. Kathleen Faye Plumlee was born February 1, 1921 in State Center, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Pearl (Klingaman) Cary. She married Hearston Plumlee on December 25, 1941 in Salome, Arizona. Kathleen loved spending time with her grandchildren, watching Iowa Basketball games, going fishing, and gardening. She will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Kathleen’s name.
