Frances Marie Sherrill Abkes was born January 30, 1960 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Leona (Card) & Douglas Sherrill. “110 Laughter, Love and Vitality Street”…that is where Fran lived. Her husband, children, family, and friends were the blue-print of her day; along with gardening, cooking, sewing, quilting, cleaning, golfing, fishing, hunting, caring for others….and of course adoring her beloved dogs, Buddie and Charlie. Her capabilities and compassion never ceased to amaze us as she’d be the first to come through the door with that infectious smile, undeniable laughter and a casserole dish fit for a king and a large enough to feed a small army. Sunrise, sunset and everything in between-She lived each day to its fullest and created many wonderful memories with all who loved her. We will cherish these memories along with the thousands of pictures she took at every event and especially every holiday. She loved holidays and over-decorating for each and every one. People in her life had a place in her heart and her home (and of course she never met a stranger). She welcomed us all with that uniquely beautiful zest for life, and made sure that each of us had “The Best Scat in the House!” We miss her terribly, but the life-force she created (and that will always be), is the blue-print we’ll carry within us forever. Fran will be truly missed by all who loved her and knew her. The family would like to thank each and every person who showed their love and support during her duration at Allen Hospital. Without the support from friends and family, we would not have been able to get through each and every obstacle we were faced with during the last month. We would also like to thank the kind nurses and staff at Allen Hospital who took such good care of her and continued to be hopeful when we needed it the most. All memorials can be directed to the family.
