Obituary for Delilah A. Hughes

Delilah A. Hughes, 72, of Waverly, IA passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa. As was presumed to be her wish, Delilah was cremated. A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, November 13th at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. A luncheon will be held in the church hall following the mass. Arrangements by the Cremation Society of Eastern-Central-Western Iowa. Survivors include her brother, Dean Hinmon of Albuquerque, NM and one step-sister, Carolyn (Dennis) Braget of Plymouth, MN. Her parents and one brother preceded her in death. Delilah A. Hughes was born July 30, 1935 in Charles City, Iowa, the daughter of Neil and Mildred (Smith) Hughes. Delilah was always very concerned about religious education and taught classes at various churches in the community. All throughout her life she found ways in befriending people and helping them in their time of need. She will always be remembered for her compassion for others.
