Melvin LeRoy Frueh

Melvin LeRoy Frueh, 76, of Fort Madison, IA died Sunday, May 27, 2007 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital. Survivors include two sons, Leon Frueh of Fort Madison and Larry (Jean) Frueh of West Point, IA, one daughter, Lynn (Walter) Lynch of Donnellson and a brother, Delbert (Lora lee) Frueh of Mesa, AZ. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. His wife Virginia, a brother, and his parents preceded him in death. Melvin was born September 25, 1930 to LeRoy and Meta Frueh in Donnellson, IA. He graduated from Donnellson High School and spent many years farming. He married Virginia Dilsaver on November 20, 1960 in Burlington, IA. In the winters Melvin would do income taxes for farmers. He enjoyed harvest time and has harvested wheat in twelve different states and providences of Canada. He enjoyed his time visiting and reminiscing at the coffee shop. He was a member of FFA, Farm Bureau, and St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Donnellson. A memorial fund has been established for the St. Pauls United Church of Christ in Donnellson.
