Obituary for John Russell Becker

John R. Becker, 72, of Cedar Rapids, IA passed away at his home Thursday, May 31, 2007 after his battle with cancer. Per his wishes, John was cremated. John is survived by his wife, Martha; children, Joni Coates of Wyoming, IA, Stephen and wife Jean, John F, Mark and wife Kelli, all of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Matthew and wife Rebecca of Anchorage, AK; brothers, Louis Becker of Texas, Daniel Becker of Lansing, IA, Wayne Becker of Quasqueton, IA, and Daryl Becker of Saratoga, CA; sisters, Pauline Monserud of Waukon, IA, Lucille Mangrich and Darlene Sorenson, both of Cedar Rapids, IA; and eleven grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles and David Becker; and sisters, Mabel Maas, Leona Sullivan, and Elizabeth Pizarik. John Russell Becker was born April 7, 1935 to John J. and Grace (Davis) Becker in Watkins, Iowa. He married Martha Wehde on January 20, 1954 in Johnson County. John was employed with Link Belt FMC as a Machinist for 27 years and with Rockwell Goss for 10 years. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society in John’s name.
