Marjorie Elaine Gloyer

Marjorie (Marge) Elaine Gloyer, 85 of Washington, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at the Halcyon House in Washington, Iowa after an extended illness. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2007 at the Halcyon House. Marjorie E. Rodman was born September 1, 1921 in Nunda, South Dakota, the daughter of Max and Dot (Glaze) Rodman. Marge married Raymond Gloyer on July 6, 1948 in Washington, Iowa. Marge graduated from the University of Minnesota as a registered nurse. She worked as the Washington County Public Health Nurse and later, for several doctors in Washington. She was instrumental in the formation of Hospice of Washington, Co., the Association for Retarded Children (ARC), and Camp Reece. She was involved in many local organizations over the years, including: the United Presbyterian Church, TTT, YWCA, and the UP Church sewing/quilting group. Her passions in life were caring for others and sewing. Marge is survived by her husband Raymond, sons Mark and Jon, grandchildren Jessica and Zachary, great-granddaughter Keli, and special friend Susan. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, and one sister. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Washington County in Marge’s name.
