John Frederick Milne

John Frederick Milne, age 76, of Waterloo, Iowa, died on June 30, 2007, at his home due to a long illness. A visitation, with the family present, will be held at the Cedar Valley Community Church, 3520 Ansborough Ave, in Waterloo, from 5-8PM on Monday, July 2, 2007 . A memorial service will be held at Cedar Valley Community Church on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 beginning at 3PM. Survivors of John include his wife Frances, his children; John Jr. “Jack” Milne of Dysart, Iowa, Terry Lynn and wife Susan of Las Vegas, Nevada, Madonna Hemesath of Laporte City, Iowa, and Pamela Hinders and husband Curt of Dysart, Iowa, step-children; Jon Thorson and wife Lise of San Diego, California, Teresa Beverly of San Antonio, Texas, and Michelle Sears and husband Michael of Charlotte, North Carolina, and sixteen grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, two sons; Steven Milne and Joseph Milne, a daughter; Ann Milne, and two brothers; Rex Milne and George Milne. John was born on December 10, 1930 in Dysart, Iowa to John “Fred” and Marguerite (Boyd) Milne. He grew up in Dysart and graduated from high school there in 1949. He married Marcella Dvorak on October 4, 1949. To this union seven children were born. After graduation John farmed near Dysart for 25 years. He was also involved in insurance sales and was a coordinator of Adult Education Emergency Medical Systems at Hawkeye Tech. He was an active member in the Cedar Valley Community Church. John was united in marriage with Frances Louise Pike on July 8, 1988. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children, step-children, and all of his grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established in John’s name.
