Arlie (John) E. Paterson, 68, of Otho, Iowa passed away Monday, June 4, 2007 at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, IA. Per his wishes, Arlie was cremated. Graveside Memorial Services will be held Friday June 15, 2007 at 2:00 pm. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Dodge with a gathering for family and friends following the service at the Otho-Kalo Community Church. Arlie is survived by his wife Riza of Otho, IA; one son Joseph Paterson of Otho, IA; two daughters Barbara (Rob) Saatzer of Minnesota, and Christen (Dave) Dutcher of Ft. Dodge; two brothers Donald (Lisa) Paterson of Port Orchard, WA, and Leland (Joan) of Dakota City, IA and one Sister Donna (Jim) Bowling of Fayetteville, AR; and 11 grandchildren. Arlie was preceded in death by his parents William and Mary Paterson, three sisters, one brother, and one stepson. Arlie Eugene Paterson was born March 2, 1939 to William and Mary (Bockoven) Paterson in Fort Dodge, IA. He married Riza Crouse on July 15, 1989 in Otho, IA. Arlie served his country in the United States Army for twelve years and was employed with Chantland of Humboldt as a Welder. Arlie was a member of the Golden Mic‘s and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and bowling. Memorials may be directed to the Paterson family for memorial of their choice.
