Jack DeWayne Schuck, 83, of Cedar Falls, IA passed away Thursday, July 12, 2007 at the Cedar Valley Dialysis Center in Waterloo IA. Per his wishes, Jack was cremated. Jack DeWayne Schuck was born February 21, 1924 to Claude and Elizabeth “Betty” (Betz) Schuck in Waterloo, IA. Jack was a 1942 graduate of Parkersburg High School. He served in the United States Army serving during World War II in the European Theatre Conflict. After serving his country, Jack owned and operated Schuck Realty Company from 1950 until his retirement in 2000. Jack was married to Celia Tebben in 1946. They were later divorced. On June 26, 1986, he and Joan Tomkins were united in marriage at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Through the years Jack was very active in the community and started many housing developments. Jack enjoyed life to the fullest and loved spending time with friends and family. Survivors include his wife Joan Schuck of Cedar Falls; son Jon Schuck of North Port, FL; daughter Sheila Clark of Los Angeles, CA; step children Angela (Jeff) Church of Parkersburg, IA; Rex (Hope) Tomkins of Parkersburg; Scott (Shelly) Tomkins of Garner, NC; and ten grandchildren, Mark and Anthony Clark, Jessica and Zachary Church, Desiree and Blake Tomkins, Jacob, Jason, Jaclyn Tomkins, and Jonah Smith. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Marjorie Sheppard. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at 10:30 AM at the Bethel Lutheran Church located at 701 3rd Avenue in Parkersburg, IA. Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Valley Dialysis Center or to the Jack Schuck Parkersburg Scholarship Fund in Jack’s name.
