Connie, Glenn, Jim, Kris, Kevin and Andy, (and no, I didn't forget Gerry, Laura, Jack & Edna, et.al) I'm so grateful that we were all together last weekend to share our memories of Mom. The "message mirrors" are still full and I don't know if I'll be able to clean them. Mom would be proud of how we came together (I know she's looking down at us). I love you all. And by the way, Connie, I think you forgot the "sy" at the end of Boss. Love, Suz
Glenn, Jim, Kris, Sue, Kevin & Andy, I just want you all to know how proud I am of all of you. Mom worked very hard to keep us all close and she has definitely succeeded. It is this strength that will help us all heal from our collective loss. I love you all very much. By the way, Mom said I'm the boss now!
Kris, Please accept my condolences on the loss of your mother. I know from recent experience how hard this can be, and my thoughts and prayers are with you, Connie, and all your family. Best regards, John Magill
Chris and family, I am sorry to hear of your mom's passing away. I bought the paper today to see her obituary and reading your comments about her brought back many memories of staying overnight and enjoying her "monkey bread" in the morning, fresh out of the oven. I too can hear her high pitched laugh and see her smiley face. At that time in my life she was like a second mom and she probably felt like she had unknowingly adopted me at times. :-) Like Chris has said before, "We never seemed to get caught doing anything wrong when we were with eachother. If we had, her mom probably wouldn't have let us hang out together anymore." And now I am the mother of a 16 yr. old and I'm praying hard that she keeps her nose clean. Catherine earned her mother's badge of courage and gray hairs. Thanks for sharing your mom and your family with me. I will continue to have fond memories. Missy
We at the Steindler Orthopedic Clinic share our condolences with your family. Particularly Dr. Dykstra, Dan Coons, and I are saddened by Catherine's passing. May the Lord grant you peace in time. Sincerely, Brent Overton

To all the Smithies, Kaufmans and extended family, Please accept my heartfelt condolences at this difficult time and may you find peace and comfort in the thought that so many others cared for your mother and are with you in your sorrow. I was the recipient of a "few" admonishments from her in the early days but it made me feel like part of the family. Sincerely,

We are so saddened to hear of the death of your dear mother, who was a true and warm friend to both of us. There was never another, and we were thrilled to share her wonderful birthday celebration. Rachel called last night to tell us of her passing, and unfortunately, we are in Kansas City. Please know of our love and support. We will be in contact as soon as we return.
With my deepest sympathies. The family is in my prayers. Paula
It is now starting to sink in that Mom Cathy is no longer with us and I feel very, very sad. I will miss her terribly but I have all of you -- Connie, Glenn, Kris, Sue, Kevin, Andy and most especially Jim -- to talk about the beautiful life she shared with each one of us. Glen, Claire, Quinn, Landon, Megan, Lauren, Erin, Robbie and Jack's kids are so lucky to share great memories with their Grandma. Unfortunately, Nikki didn't have the chance to visit with Grandma. I am so honored to be a member of this family and salute Cathy for the awesome job she had done in raising her children. She will be missed but we all have wonderful memories to share with one another. I love you all and thank you -- Mom Cathy!

Cathy became my friend, primarily by e-mail when she was in her late 60's and 70's. She had a great sense of humor, and was truly one of the most decent and straightforward people that I have known. This must be why her children turned out to be such caring people. Love to all, Eva
Kris, you and your family have my deepest sympathies. Having lost my dad a couple years ago, I know what you are experiencing. All the best, George Oschman
