Edward L. Tatro

Edward L. Tatro, 70, 1245 3rd St. NW died Sunday, January 14, 2007 at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center following a long illness. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, from 5PM to 7PM at the House of Prayer, 406 12th St. SE. The Rev. Jim Fields of First Assembly of God Church will officiate. Survivors include his wife, Betty and her family of Cedar Rapids; three daughters, Jacklyn Lane (Donald), Shelley Tatro (Delbert) and Anita Nost (Mark) all of Cedar Rapids; 16 grandchildren, Lisa, Kimberly, Christine, Derrick, Dustin, Robert Jr., April, Dannielle, Megan, Jessica, Amanda, Annamarie, Rodney, Curtis, Christopher, and Mariah; 8 great grandchildren, Damian, Dalton, Dakota, Darren, Echo, Mathew, Alyson and Samuel; a brother, Sharon Tatro (Jean) of Clinton; and a daughter-in-law, Theresa Tatro. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Edward L. Tatro, Jr.; three brothers, Harry Tatro, Theodore Tatro and Jim Tatro; and a great grandchild, Derrick Jr. Edward was born February 6, 1936 in Iowa City the son of Theodore and Vera (Smith) Tatro. He married Betty Moss in October of 2005 in Cedar Rapids. He was a jack of all trades. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Edward was a member of First Assembly of God Church and the House of Prayer. A memorial fund to the House of Prayer has been established. Arrangements by the Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa.
