Lowell A. Langerman, 79, of rural Fayette, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, December 9, 2007 Memorial Services will be held at 3:00pm, Friday, December 14, 2007 at the Fayette Opera House in Fayette, with the Steve Felt officiating. There will be a Celebration of Life following the service from 4:00pm to 7:00pm for family and friends. The Cremation Society of Eastern Iowa is handling arrangements. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary Langerman. Children, Joyce Petsche (Gary) of Hawkeye, Cary Langerman (Candy) of New Mexico, Jan O’Donnell of West Union, Peggy Hamann of Cedar Rapids, Colleen Wilson (Dwight) of Florida, John Langerman (Ann) of Fayette and Carol Aten (Steve) of Fayette. 2 Brothers, Arthur of Ohio & Philip of Colorado; 2 Sisters, Judy Gruetzmacher of Oelwein & JoEllen Langerman of Bellevue, IA. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Along with numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Willard & Larry and a sister, Lois Jean Samek. And one sister-in-law Sandra Langerman. Lowell A. Langerman was born June 8, 1928 in rural Fayette Co., Iowa the son of Joseph & Orpha (Paige) Langerman. He attended school in the Fayette area and graduated from Upper Iowa University in 1955. Lowell served in the U.S. Air Force and on October 12, 1952 he married Mary Alice Cummings at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. He was a teacher, farmer and entrepreneur. Lowell was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him and knew him.
