Obituary for Gaylen Francis Farrell

Gaylen Francis Farrell, 63, of Lindstrom, MN formally of Davenport, IA passed away Friday, December 28, 2007, at home. Per his wishes, Gaylen was cremated. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, January 5, 2008 at 1 PM at The Friendly House (1221 Myrtle Street, Davenport, Iowa). Survivors include his daughter, Faith Farrell of Minneapolis, MN; his son, Tye R. Farrell of Phoenix, AZ; his mother, Marjorie Farrell; two sisters, Glenda and Gloria Farrell of Davenport, IA; and one brother, Gregory Farrell of Tupelo, MS. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis; and brother, Gordon Farrell. Gaylen was born March 26, 1944 in Davenport, IA to Francis and Marjorie (Helmich) Farrell. His ex-wife, Gloria (Seering) Farrell, whom he married on August 16, 1964 in Appleton, Wisconsin remained best friends and proud parents until the end. From owning an Elvis themed café as well as an antique shop to traveling the United States selling heavy industrial equipment, Gaylen also enjoyed collecting Pepsi and Elvis memorabilia, sheet music, instruments, rocks and minerals. Gaylen infused others with his good-natured humor and generous spirit. Memorials may be directed to the family.
